On December 15, 1992, Plaintiff Sonya Bowie's 16-year-old son, Anthony Dion Bowie, was confined to a special housing unit at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. In the course of quelling a disturbance, 2 Defendant County of Los Angeles detention service officers, Defendants Leevada and Darryl Moore, ordered Dion Bowie to his cell. He resisted and during the course of being moved, Dion Bowie and one officer fell on a concrete bed. Dion Bowie sustained a fatal injury inflicted through a blunt force trauma to the neck.
