On March 7, 1993, the plaintiff wife, Wanda Dixon, a 60 year-old homemaker, was a customer in the defendant's, Mrs. Gooch's, grocery store. The plaintiff wife alleged that she slipped and fell on water which was on the floor in the produce department. The defendant's employees and other witnesses testified that they did not see any water. The plaintiff wife brought the action based on general negligence and premises liability theories of recovery. The plaintiff husband, Vern Dixon, brought this action for loss of consortium.
