Facts

From July through August 1994, the claimant, a 35-year-old animal control officer and director of humane education, was employed by the respondent company. On Aug. 11, 1994, the claimant wrote a letter to a Glendale official informing this official of the respondent company's alleged animal rights violations. On Aug. 31, 1994, the respondent company terminated the claimant for allegedly making defamatory remarks about the respondent company. The claimant brought this action against the respondent company based on wrongful termination theories of recovery.
