On July 2, 1995, plaintiff Joan McGhee, a 40-year-old homemaker, was shopping in defendant Wal-Mart Store Inc.'s store when she slipped and fell on water spilled in an aisle. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant store based on negligence and premises liability theories of recovery.
