In January 1994, plaintiff Tracy Schiff, a 33-year-old cancer information specialist at UCLA, requested flexible hours so she could schedule medical appointments for treatment of Lupis. She was terminated shortly after making her request. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant Regents of the University of California based on violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, claiming wrongful termination, retaliation, and failure to provide accommodation under A.D.A. theories of recovery.
