On Oct. 14, 1995, the plaintiff, a 17-year-old student, was a front seat passenger in a vehicle driven by the defendant. The vehicle struck the center divider of the freeway and rolled over. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on a negligence theory of recovery.
