Facts
On Nov. 15, 1994, the plaintiff, a 47-year-old woman who was newly employed as an assistant to a movie producer, was driving an automobile on the freeway. The defendant truck driver was operating the defendant employer's truck in the lane next to the plaintiff's vehicle when the defendant truck driver merged into the plaintiff's lane, causing the plaintiff to lose control of her vehicle and strike the median. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants based on negligence and negligent supervision theories of recovery.
Settlement Discussions
The plaintiff made a settlement demand for $325,000. The defendant made a settlement offer of $125,000.
