Facts

On Jan. 16, 1995, plaintiff Ty Volkmann, a 41-year-old computer analyst at the University of California at San Francisco was a passenger in a van owned by defendant SuperShuttle of San Francisco and operated by defendant Sharon Greenpeace. The plaintiff alleged that the van driver drove the van into an intersection where it collided with an automobile driven by Cora Ismail. The plaintiff brought this action against SuperShuttle, Sharron Greenpeace and Cora Ismail based on a negligence theory of recovery. Defendants SuperShuttle and Greenpeace cross-complained against Ismail for indemnity.
