Facts

From 1994 to 1995, the plaintiff was a probationary police officer with the defendant county. The plaintiff alleged that she was being sexually harassed by her supervisor during this time. In January 1995, the plaintiff was released from her probation. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on sexual harassment, marital status discrimination and retaliation.

Damages

The plaintiff claimed a potential loss of income and emotional distress.

Other Information

The settlement was reached approximately one year and two months after the case was filed. MEDIATION: The mediation was held on July 24, 1997 before Terrance Carrol of J.D.R. resulting in the reported settlement. The defendant also agreed to rescind the plaintiff's termination with a reinstatement after which, she resigned. Per plaintiff's attorney, the mediator did an outstanding job in settling a difficult case.
