On Oct. 11, 1994, plaintiff Celeste Wong, a minor, was walking on a sidewalk when she was struck by a vehicle driven by defendant Hassan Hirbod. The defendant was in the process of parking his car on Parnassus Street when he lost control of his vehicle. The car went up on the curb and ran into a concrete planter, striking the plaintiff as it crossed the sidewalk. The plaintiff, by and through her Guardian Ad Litem, brought this action against the defendant based on a negligence theory of recovery.
