In 1993, plaintiff Stephen Ball, a 34-year-old man, contended that defendant Megan Loe, a counselor, and defendant Kathleen Ready-Ball, the mother of his daughters used false memory to get his 3 and 4-year-old daughters to claim he sexually abused them. Criminal charges were filed, then dropped for lack for evidence. The daughters refused to see the plaintiff father. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants based on professional malpractice, loss of consortium and alienation of affection theories of recovery.
