On Sept. 20, 1996, the plaintiff's vehicle, a 1990 Porsche Cabriolet, was parked by the valet at defendant Beverly Hills Country Club by defendant Valet Parking Service. The attendant parked and locked the vehicle, retaining the keys. The car was later reported stolen. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants based on negligence and breach of contract theories of recovery.
