Facts

On March 22, 1997, plaintiff Minnie Russell, a 92-year-old woman, slipped and fell on the highly-polished floor of defendant Continental Plaza Hotel's atrium. The plaintiff suffered injury to her right knee when she landed on it. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence and premises liability theories of recovery.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff made a C.C.P. º998 settlement demand for $125,000. The defendant made a C.C.P. º998 offer of compromise for $50,000 which was accepted by plaintiff.
