In September 1990, plaintiff Carlos Agredano a 32-year-old computer consultant, presented to the East Los Angeles office of Newport Dental Center for orthodontic treatment. He treated with various orthodontists at that facility including the defendants, through May 1996. During the orthodontic treatment, the plaintiff sustained root resorption (shortening of the roots) on the four upper anterior and four lower anterior teeth. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendants based on negligence.
Settlement Discussions
The plaintiff settled with Newport Dental Center and Dr. Scoble before trial for $22,500. Defendants Wahl and Yazdi made an offer for $9,999 each.
