Facts
On Sept. 3, 1997, defendant was traveling at 35-40 mph in a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, eastbound on Magnolia
in North Hollywood, behind Gary Livingood, in a 1986 Plymouth Tourisimo, approaching the on-ramp for the
170 freeway, when he looked up at a sign. When Guevarra looked back at the traffic, he realized that the
vehicles in front of him had come to a stop. Guevarra slammed on his brakes, about 150 feet behind Livingood,
but hit LivingoodÆs vehicle, pushing him into the rear of plaintiffÆs 1994 Mustang.
