On July 10, 1998, at the intersection of Arcadia Street and Main Street in downtown Los Angeles, defendant Kirt
Hopson was proceeding westbound on Arcadia to the Central Civil Courthouse.
Plaintiff, a 48-year-old Chinese Court interpreter, was driving northbound on Main to the Central Criminal
Court Building. The vehicles collided within the intersection, resulting in total loss of both vehicles.
