Facts

Plaintiff was a 29-year-old U.S. Navy veteran. On Sept. 14, 1999, plaintiff was westbound on Gutierrez when defendant pulled out from the stop sign at Nopal, into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The plaintiff was unable to avoid the collision. He laid his bike down and contacted the left front of the defendantÆs vehicle. The plaintiff was transported by emergency ambulance to the hospital.
The defendant asserted that plaintiff was speeding and inattentive.

Settlement Discussions

A $1.1 million (policy limit) was presented. The defendant agreed to pay the policy limit.
