In May 1999, the plaintiff, a 33-year-old homemaker, was transporting her three children to school when she
was struck broadside by a pick up truck that ran a red light. The plaintiffs settled with the first party truck who
ran the red light for his policy limits. The plaintiff then filed an underinsured claim against her own insurance
carrier.
