Facts

In August, 1993, the plaintiffÆs husband, Russell Lovvorn, then a 45-year-old engineer and father of two children,
consulted his family physician, defendant, Dr. James Sands, for an enlarged testicle. Dr. Sands referred the
patient to defendant, Dr. Muni Reddy, a urologist, for a consultation, whereby Dr. Reddy diagnosed the patient
with testicular cancer and removed the tumor.
In January 1995, the patient was diagnosed with an another tumor, this time in his chest. The patient was
treated with chemotherapy and radiation by defendant, Dr. Harry Menco, but developed clots and died of a
stroke in March 1995.
The plaintiffs, the patientÆs wife and two children, brought this case on a negligence
cause of action.

Damages

The plaintiffs claimed $346,900 in lost earnings and $531,000 (present value) in lost future earnings.

Injuries

The plaintiffs suffered the death of a husband of 18 years and father due to a stroke.
