Facts

On Sep. 22, 2000, the plaintiff, a 36-year-old woman, while walking with crutches in a hallway at The Anaheim Pond, slipped upon water. This dangerous condition was allegedly caused by an employee of the defendant who was brushing his mop on the floor.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff submitted a demand of $250,000; the defendant initially offered $110,000, but subsequently increased this to $150,000. A settlement was reached at $150,000 after the plaintiff obtained a relief from bankruptcy stay in New York.

Injuries

Aggravation of a pre-existing congenital hip deformity which required multiple surgeries prior to the accident. At the time of the accident, the plaintiff was on crutches as a result of surgery two months earlier.
