Plaintiffs Pamela Melendez, 49, and Andrea Sabanovich, 20, were stopped in traffic when their Honda was struck by a Jeep driven by 19-year-old Jason Maxwell. The vehicle's owner was Maxwell's grandmother, Judy Jordan. Melendez, an SBC operator, and Sabanovich, a student, sued Maxwell. Maxwell admitted liability, but disputed the nature and extent of the damages.
