On July 16, 1992, Plaintiff Maria Ginez, a 68-year-old homemaker, was a student at the senior citizen center. She exited a side door, crossed over a 4-foot by 4-foot concrete patio, and then stepped down into some stepping stones that were imbedded in the dirt. She twisted her ankle when her heel allegedly entered a hole next to the first stepping stone.
