Defendants Price and R&M Baking, Inc., are the owners and operators of the Dunkin' Donuts shops in Las Vegas, Nevada. Plaintiff Liza Weatherbee, a 42-year-old cashier, worked at one of Defendants' donut shops. Plaintiff was accused of stealing; of being $12.00 short; and of being 14 dozen donuts short on her January 16, 1993 shift. Plaintiff was fired on January 17, 1993. The reason stated on the termination sheet was "frequent errors on cash register."
