On Oct. 20, 1994, plaintiff a 61-year-old mechanic, was driving to his place of employment, where he had been employed for thirty years. The plaintiff was driving southbound in the No. 2 lane of Pershing Drive towards the intersection of Pershing and Manchester Blvd. The defendant driver, driving his employer's vehicle, was proceeding northbound on Pershing from the left-turn lane and turned left (west) directly in front of the plaintiff's path. The two vehicles collided. The defendant driver was atttempting to turn into the driveway of a mini-mall shopping center. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant driver and the owner of the vehicle based on a negligence theory of recovery.
