Facts
On March 10 1994, plaintiff Elena Salinas, a 34-year-old unemployed woman, was shopping in defendant Fedco's store in Pasadena when she struck her ankle on an allegedly defective support bar of a metal clothing rack. The plaintiff claimed that in doing so, she injured her back and right ankle. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant store based on a negligence theory of recovery.
