On May 31, 1995, plaintiff Glennys Brovillard, a 59-year-old retired real estate salesperson, was walking through the defendant Ralphs grocery store in Palm Springs when she slipped in a puddle of water near an ice freezer and fell. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence and premises liability theories of recovery.
