Facts
Ricky Salazar, a 37-year old truck driver, was treated by defendant John Buxton, M.D. The defendant removed Salazar's gall bladder, an elective procedure. Salazar was a reformed alcoholic and drug abuser who had cirrhosis. Salazar died two days following the surgery due to complications. The plaintiff is Rosanne Salazar, the decedent's widow.
