Facts

Larry Evans and Wesley Hairston sued their employer, Washington Mutual Bank, on behalf of themselves and similarly situated individuals for failure to reimburse business expenses and improper wage deductions. The certified class included California employees of Washington Mutual working between Oct. 3, 1998, and Dec. 31, 2006, as account managers and loan consultants.

Result

Shortly before trial, after approximately five and a half years of litigation, the parties settled for $32.5 million.
