Tessera Inc. filed an infringement lawsuit against various defendants, including Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc. and ASE (U.S.) Inc. Defendants Advanced and ASE filed a counter-claim against Tessara.

PLAINTIFF/COUNTER-DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff accused defendants of infringing on its patents.

DEFENDANTS/COUNTER-PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied plaintiffs' allegations, and asserted various affirmative defenses. Additionally, defendants ASE filed a counter-claim against plaintiff seeking declaratory relief for non-infringement and invalidity.

Result

Tessera and ASE reached a $30 million settlement. The parties agreed to dismiss any dispute between them.
