Plaintiffs Terry Nowotarski and Lorraine Nowak were child care directors for Defendant Central Orange County YWCA. On August 21, 1992, Plaintiff were terminated for violation of state licensing requirements. On August 24, 1992, the YWCA sent out a memo to all child care parents, advising of the terminations and also of the appointment of a new child care director. Terry Nowotarski was 38 and Lorraine Nowak was 42 at the time of the terminations.
