Facts
On September 10, 1991, Plaintiff, a 47-year-old interpreter in the course and scope of her employment, tripped and fell on asphalt in the Defendant's parking lot. Once she completed her assignment, she returned to her automobile; as she approached the door, her left foot was allegedly caught in raised and broken asphalt. She lurched forward and twisted her ankle as she fell. She was able to prevent herself from falling to the ground by grabbing her vehicle and the truck parked next to her vehicle. She felt immediate pain in her left knee.
