Facts
On May 25, 1992, Memorial Day, Plaintiff mother Esther Lugo, a 27-year-old shipping clerk/secretary, was driving northbound on Boyle Avenue with her children Mark, 7 years of age, and Tiffany, then 14 months of age. Defendant City of Los Angeles' utility truck, driven by their employee Defendant Antonio Ramirez (dismissed by stipulation), made a sudden left turn onto Eighth Street in front of Plaintiffs' 1984 Nissan 200SX. Unable to stop, Plaintiffs' vehicle collided head-on with Defendant's vehicle. Prior to trial, Defendant City of Los Angeles accepted liability.
