On the evening of Nov. 11, 1997, the plaintiff, Mark Langer, a 17-year-old student, after finishing work at a local pharmacy, and visiting his grandmother at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, was crossing northbound across Beverly Boulevard and George Burns Drive when he was struck by a car driven by defendant Jose Melendez, traveling westbound on Beverly. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence.
