Facts

On April 7, 2014, deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. responded to an emergency call at an apartment building in West Hollywood. A suspect had reportedly threatened two women with a knife. He left their apartment unit and entered plaintiff's unit, where he was involved in a physical altercation with plaintiff's roommate and her roommate's friend. Plaintiff was hiding in her bedroom at the time. The deputies fired shots inside plaintiff's apartment, striking plaintiff's roommate and her roommate's friend. Deputies subsequently detained and handcuffed plaintiff.
