Plaintiff brought a civil action against Derrick Rose, a professional basketball player with the New York Knicks, his assistant Randall Hampton, and friend Ryan Allen.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Plaintiff contended that each defendant entered her apartment without her permission and had sex with her when she was too intoxicated or incapacitated to give consent.
She asserted causes of action for sexual battery, battery, trespass; conspiracy to trespass, commit sexual battery and battery; gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, violation of the Ralph Act, and claim for declaratory relief.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Each defendant denied the plaintiff's claims. Defendants contended that plaintiff invited each of them into her apartment and bedroom, and that she consented to the sexual activity that occurred.
Result
The jury returned a unanimous verdict on all claims for all defendants.
