On Feb. 7, 1996, plaintiff Edward Willis, a 33-year-old auto mechanic, was a front seat passenger in a car driven by Robert McKinnon (also a plaintiff in this action). The plaintiffs were driving southbound on Lincoln Boulevard, waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway. At that point, a vehicle driven by defendant Yolanda Araiza, rearended plaintiffs' vehicle. Plaintiff Willis brought this action against the defendant based on a negligence theory of recovery. Plaintiff McKinnon settled his claim prior to trial.
