    Facts

    The plaintiff and her family were loading a dune buggy on to their newly purchased trailer when one of the wheels of the dune buggy rolled over a cable connected to the ramp, causing a cable on the opposite side to go slack. When the first cable was released, the other cable snapped back suddenly and struck the plaintiff's right wrist.

    Settlement Discussions

    The case settled for $575,000 before Hon. Jack Mandel of JAMS; $344,400 from M-3 & Associates; $229,600 from Carson Trailer; $1,000 from Murphy Industries.

    Injuries

    The plaintiff sustained a severe comminuted fracture of her right wrist, which has necessitated three surgeries including a wrist fusion. She also suffers from a chronic pain syndrome.
