Facts

On June 23, 2002, at approximately 1 p.m., the plaintiff, Holly Miner, entered Corbin Auto Parts store through its rear entrance. This was her first visit to the store. The defendant Corbin's manager had placed a steel shelf inside the rear entrance approximately four feet from the subject door. The manager had also placed a no parking/no stopping sign on the steel shelf at eye level. Upon entering the rear entrance, there was a single unmarked concrete step.
