Plaintiff Daniel Lee was a 75-year-old resident of a senior Woodland Hills housing facility owned by defendant Maguire Partners Inc. In June 2001, an employee of the facility believed plaintiff was delusional and mentally unstable. A nurse at the facility ordered him temporarily committed. The plaintiff was confined for three days at the California Hospital Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. The other defendants are SK Management, the manager of the housing facility, and facility employees. The plaintiff sued the defendants for violating his civil rights and negligently and intentionally inflicting emotional distress.
Injuries
The plaintiff claimed defamation, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and violations of his civil rights.
