Facts
On April 20, 2007, Laura Jurineak alleged that she slipped and fell at the rear entrance of Swiss Cleaners in Los Angeles. Swiss Cleaners is a tenant of 10533 Santa Monica LLC. Jurineak sued both Swiss Cleaners and 10533 Santa Monica for negligence. 10533 Santa Monica filed a cross-complaint against Jae Sung Bae, owner of Swiss Cleaners, for indemnity.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Jurineak claimed that she slipped on a slippery surface due to the negligence of Swiss Cleaners. Plaintiff argued that 10533 Santa Monica was liable as a landowner.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS:
The defendants claimed that they were not negligent. They also disputed the nature and extent of Jurineak's injuries.
Injuries
Jurineak claimed to have suffered lumbosacral pain, bilateral lower extremity hyporeflexia, cervical sprain, bilateral upper extremity sprain, and numbness.
Result
The jury found in favor of Swiss Cleaners and 10533 Santa Monica.
