Facts

On July 4, 1989, Plaintiffs' automobile was struck in a rear end collision by Defendants' tractor/trailer rig. The collision occurred where the two northbound lanes were merged into one lane near the City of Turlock on Route 99.

Plaintiffs contend they demanded a $475,000 package and Defendants offered nothing until the mandatory settlement conference. Defandants contend Plaintiff driver demanded $450,000 and Plaintiff passenger demanded $300,000; both on October 1, 1992.
