In August 1998, decedent was driving on a street in Fresno when defendant failed to stop for a red light and collided with decedent's vehicle. The decedent was killed instantly. The plaintiff, the decedent's husband and children brought this action against the defendant based on negligence.

Injuries

Wrongful death of wife and mother who was on welfare with grown children and one minor child.

Other Information

The plaintiff's trial counsel was retained about 90 days prior to the start of trial which was set for Sept. 20, 1999. The case settled after counsel sent a demand letter for the policy limits of defendants insurance. The case settled nine months after being filed. Another plaintiff/passenger received $20,000 for soft tissue injuries. She was also represented by Otto Haselhoff.
