Facts

On March 8, 1996, defendant driver failed to yield and made a left turn striking plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff, a 53-year-old grinder machine operator, was airlifted to a hospital.

The plaintiff suffered severe scalp laceration, fracture of the right ulna, internal bleeding, four surgeries to right forearm, right shoulder, left shoulder and brain damage. Plaintiff did not work for one year following the accident. Plaintiff was subsequently laid off from his employment allegedly because of his inability to perform his pre-accident job. Plaintiff claimed he could no longer work because of his injuries.
