Facts
On Feb. 13, 1997, the patient had gone to defendant's emergency department with abdominal complications. The patient was diagnosed as having a myocardial infarction. A cardiologist was consulted and an angiogram and angioplasty were performed, but the patient died in the early hours of February 14. The plaintiffs, the decedent's wife and daughters, brought this medical malpractice action against the defendants.
