Facts

Arkansas Best Freight (ABF) and YRCW were competing teamster trucking companies. International Brotherhood Teamsters (IBT) and YRCW were signatories to the National Master Freight Agreement (NMFA), a multi-employer labor contract covering teamster drivers.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
ABF filed suit against IBT and YRCW, alleging IBT granted contractual wage and benefits concessions to YRCW that put ABG at an extraordinary competitive disadvantage, in breach of the NMFA.

Damages

ABF sought $750 million in damages.

Result

The court dismissed the suit. *The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the dismissal, in a decision issued on July 6, 2011, and remanded to the lower court. The circuit court held that the district court properly had jurisdiction over the claim.
