Facts
The plaintiff, a 51-year-old anesthesiologist, saw Dr. Frank Jobe and numerous other physicians for problems with her dominant shoulder. Jobe and others diagnosed adhesive capsulitis. In April 1993, Jobe did a manupulation under anesthesia and an arthroscopy to free up the shoulder joint. Jobe also sent plaintiff to a neurologist for a consult. The plaintiff left Jobe's care in October 1993 and was later diagnosed by a rheumatologist with reflex sympathetic dystrophy. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on medical negligence.
