Facts

Plaintiffs are individuals with eating disorders who are subscribers to Blue Shield of
California health plans that do not cover residential care for the treatment of any physical or
mental illness. Plaintiffs either obtained residential treatment which Blue Shield declined to
cover, or were deterred from obtaining such treatment by Blue Shield's denials of
preauthorization.

Result

The court sustained the defense's demurrers to the complaint without leave to amend.

Other Information

Plaintiff plans to file a motion for a new trial.
