On July 5, 1991, Plaintiff Spiro Stamos, a 27-year-old part-time bookkeeper, was operating a Sea-Doo personal watercraft for the first time on Clear Lake in Lake County. Defendant Lisa Spina was operating another Sea-Doo in the same vicinity. Plaintiff fell off his Sea-Doo and was attempting to get back on, when Defendant's Sea-Doo struck Plaintiff in the lower back and buttocks.
