On July 27, 1992, between 9 and 10:00 a.m., Plaintiff, a 42-year-old elementary school teacher, drove into the parking lot of Defendants' commercial shopping mall. As she was getting out her automobile, Plaintiff slipped and fell in engine fluid spilled the previous night. Defendants' property manager had learned of the spill, at some time before Plaintiff's fall, but had not fully blocked the area, though he had called maintenance to clean the parking lot.
