Facts
In October of 1989, a L.A. City employee, a van driver for the Echo Park Recreating Center Day Care Facility (state funded and state regulated), molested Plaintiffs 4-year-old Jane and 5-year-old John Doe (and other children not parties to this suit) while in the course and scope of his employment. The molestation was stipulated to by the Defendant City. The alleged molester was prosecuted, pled no lo contendere, and was released on probation for time served (1 year); 8 months later he was arrested and convicted for and violation of probation.
Settlement Discussions
Plaintiffs contend their demand was 998 in the amount of $300,000 and Defendant's offer was $100,000. Defendant contends Plaintiffs increased their demand to $500,000 before trial.
